1. Course Overview

Effective purchasing negotiation is not simply about forcing lower prices. Skilled purchasers understand cost structures, stakeholder needs, alternatives, and the long-term impact of terms on quality, schedule, risk, and supplier relationships.

The course “Purchasing Negotiation Skills” guides participants in defining objectives, BATNA, and limits; analyzing power; preparing data; exchanging proposals; handling deadlocks; and closing agreements. Exercises focus on practical purchasing scenarios.

After the course, participants can enter negotiations with clearer preparation, communicate based on interests and data, and control the documentation and follow-up of commitments after agreement.
